We meet as the light falls over the hills around Edinburgh. Cameras come out, flasks are poured, and the sky takes over. Donald walks you through settings, composition, and the patience night work asks of you, then gives you space to make your own pictures.

A few honest answers
What if the weather is bad?
Night sky photography needs a clear view of the stars. If cloud or rain would hide the sky, the shoot is postponed and you are offered a new date at no extra cost. You will not be asked to come out for a night that cannot deliver the stars.
Who is this for?
Anyone with a genuine interest in photography. Beginners are welcome. So are people who already shoot in the day and want to learn the night. The shared thread is curiosity, not a certain camera bag.
Where do we meet?
Shoots take place around Edinburgh, Scotland, chosen for a dark horizon and a clear view of the sky. The exact meeting point is sent by email once your night is confirmed, so it can follow the forecast.
What should I bring?
Bring the camera you already use, and dress for a cold Scottish night. A tripod helps if you have one. Donald will confirm the practical details when he writes to lock in your date.
